Printer Cartridge & Cellphone Recycling (year-round)

Animal Outreach Society is pleased to provide a way for YOU to assist in underwriting the price of a spay or neuter procedure and it won’t even cost you a penny! All we ask is for you to save some trash, which we can turn into cash. We have identified a recycling company to work with us in establishing our new Cash for Critters Program.

Cash for Critters will pay us up to $4 for empty ink jet printer cartridges, and $1-12 for laser cartridges, based on styles, In addition, Digital Cell Phones, working or not, bring us $3 each. Not only will this help us raise funds for the SNIP Program, it also helps to keep them out of our landfills-so it’s good for the environment, too.

Empty printer cartridges and cell phones (please note that Epson print cartridges are not acceptable at this time) can be dropped off in our collection bin at Petsmart in Crystal Lake during our regular weekend adoption hours. If you have a large volume of cartridges, we can supply you with a fully postage paid mailing box which can be sent by mail each time it is filled. We’ll put a form with our group’s name in the box so we can get credit for the cartridges you may send on our behalf. If you prefer, we’ll be happy to provide a “decorated” collection bin for you to place in your office……..and we’ll even arrange to pick up your cartridges and cell phones when ready for recycling.

This is an easy way for YOU to directly help cure pet overpopulation. Please prevent the birth of another litter by giving us your trash! If you would like to request a collection bin or mailing box, or if you have empty cartridges and/or cell phones for recycling, contact Paula Temple, SNIP Program Manager, at 815-385-0005.

NOTE: We will be glad to take ANY cartridges/phones you have, but if you would like to see if we can specifically recycle them through this program you can look here.
