Animal Outreach is making a huge impact in the pet overpopulation problem in McHenry County. Through our programs, we’re making great strides in reducing the number of unwanted pets in our communities while helping pets and adopters find each other to create new, forever families.
In order to keep up our good work and expand our efforts we need funds to support our programs. So, in spring of 2005, an invitation was put out for volunteers interested in forming a fundraising committee to look at new ways to raise money and as well as ideas on how to grow some of our existing programs. It was decided by the committee to initially focus on the Donation Can Program already in place. In order to leverage the success of this program some changes have been made. The Changes include new cans, updated labels, and improvements in the intake and output of the cans in the community. We need more people to add to the team of volunteers who already actively participate in the Donation Can Program. We want to increase our focus throughout the cities and villages of McHenry County with these cans. There are lots of places in McHenry County where we could place a can, but we need a volunteer like you to get involved. The new design of the program makes it easier than ever for volunteers to place cans and return the donations back to Animal Outreach. A detailed handbook has been developed to assist volunteers in selecting sites, getting permission from merchants, and collecting the donations. We want to keep expanding all of our programs and we want to make the Donation Can Program a growing success. Won’t you consider how you could help?
This fundraiser is easy and fun. You can meet new people and get the word out on Animal Outreach and the positive impact we’re having in McHenry County. With a little help from you on this project we can make a big difference in the lives of the animals and residents of our county. Please send an e-mail (donationcans@animaloutreachsociety.org), or give us a call (815-385-0005) and let us know how you can help! Thanks so much for your help and support. |
