Animal Boards

In order to improve the adoption rate of both McHenry County Animal Control (MCAC) animals and Animal Outreach animals, AOS established a community Animal Board program. This program places 2ft x 3ft "WE NEED HOMES" animal boards in selected locations throughout the community (see locations at bottom of page). The boards display color photographs and descriptions of animals that MCAC and AOS has available for adoption.

They are updated every one or two weeks, depending on the adoption rate. While MCAC does euthanize animals under some circumstances, those that are presented on the animal boards have been health and temperment checked, and are held until adopted (see a full explanation of AOS's association with MCAC).

AOS is also proud to participate in Walmart's "Very Best Pet Network". AOS has an animal board located at the Walmart store in McHenry.
